Bethan and Laura recently experienced Indian culture as part of an Asha team with Ballymena Academy. Here, they reflect briefly on their trip... BethanI don't think my heart will ever love another country like India! The people, sights and general atmosphere were phenomenal! My team was the best I could ask for and the kindness shown to all of the team members by the children, staff at the centre and even strangers touched my heart in a way that can't even be explained! The children were so smart and their attitude towards school and work will be something I will never forget! It will be impossible to forget it! Thank you so much for all your donations, support and prayers and please continue to think about and pray for the people there that they will achieve their goals and dreams! In the words of Sweeta "We feel the joy all the time!" LauraHeading out to Delhi was one of the most exciting experiences of my life. After weeks of preparation and fundraisers we were finally set off to India on 24th October. I enjoyed every minute of the trip but the highlight was definitely spending time in the Asha centre in Tigri. The young children were all so happy and joyful and the college students were very determined, dedicated and enthusiastic. Everyone at the centre was so kind and welcoming. We taught several lessons, played games and painted the centre while we were there. Even though we went to Tigri to teach the children, we learnt so much more from them. They are all so positive and thankful even though some of them are in terrible situations. The entire trip was very humbling and maybe one day I will go back to see them again. I would like to thank everyone at Second Broughshane for their encouragement and prayers before and during the trip.
Have a look at our video of BB Fun Day on 11th November - a special day of fun activities for all our BB boys as we celebrate 50 years of the company in Broughshane. Rachel Aicken spoke to the girls at our Annual GB Enrolment service. A great turnout of girls and officers were present to commit to GB for the coming year.
